December 2010

So its december, the last month of the year. Yikes, I dont want it to be 2011 just yet!! I have an 8 month old now!! And in 4 months he will be 1yr old!! And I now 4 months will fly by just like these past 8 have! I still remember so clearly this time last year about 7months pregnant and thinking wow this time next year our baby boy will be 8 months and we will be celebrating his 1st Xmas!! And here we are!!

Now to Nicolas's newbies, he scoots around the whole house on his belly. He knows how to stand on all fours but wont actually craw on all 4's. But he gets around on that belly! He likes his walker. Also likes to play outside the walker by pushing it around like its a giant toy car. I bought him a new play mat for the living room he outgrew the baby one. He got a few new toys for his baptism wich he loves to play

 with. One of which they are like infant matchbox cars. Little boy sits and zooms them on the hardwood floors in the living room, totally adorable!  I dot know if I mentioned in my last post he says papa!! But he loves to give mommy slobbery kisses!! <3

We already have his Xmas presents under the tree =) im excited for Xmas but I don't want it to get here too fast lol I want to take in everyday with my little fella.

Beautiful baby boy

Wow my Nicolas is 7months!! He is growing so fast, but at least I can say I have been able to enjoy him every second!!
Last Saturday November 6th we baptized Nick! It was such a special day! Everyday is special of course with my wonderful son! But this day was extra special! So it's Saturday morning and I get up before Nick and hubby so I can shower and fix my hair with out having to worry about feeding or changing or entertaining Nick.

Well the little booger must have known it was a special day! Because he woke up an hour earlier than usual! Lol, but he was just chilling in the bed with daddy while I finished my hair. Then we got up and had breakfast, and a little after 9 my sister in law showed up and we just hung out bc we didn't have much to do. Julian went to get the balloons from party city. Then we tied those to the cross center pieces for the 7 tables we had. Then around 11 we went out to the backyard to set up the tables and chairs. We turned on the bounce house to try it out before the party.

Then my inlaws arrived and we all went inside. And my sis in law my hubby and I all changed into our church cloths, and of course I change Nick into his special outfit! He looked so handsome!! Off we go to the church... We got there early at 1pm so we could get a good seat and have time to Seattle!

We expected that there would be another 20 kids being baptized, but there was only 6 including Nick!! Which was super awsome! Felt a little more private and I feel that we were able to enjoy it better. Nick didn't cry when he felt the water on his head, must be because he loves baths lol!

Beautiful service, a family friend tool lots of pics of us with family. I'm hoping to get to see those pics soon! Then we went back home, my mom brought over the food, and everyone ate and mingled, and the kids played football and jumped on the bounce house. Then we busted the pinata lol. And lastly we cut the yummy cakes courtesy of my aunt Mary and cousin Samantha!

And what we thought would be an early lunch and everyone would leave by 4, did I forget we r Mexican!! It was 6:30 and everyone was still there. And we had the rental place coming at 6:30, well they show up and we have to give up our tables m chairs, but no worries lol we moved it on inside! And since it was getting chilly, coffee time! And for the men tequila shots! The kids thank god were well behaved and were in my livingroom watching movies.

The last guests didn't leave until 10:30! And it was supposed to be a lunch! Lol, and yes Nicolas stayed up during all of this! He was tired but hung in there! He wouldn't go to sleep so I took the few kids left to his room and let him open his presents. And that was the end of the night, we layed him in the middle of our bed and we cuddled and talked about what a great day it was, and we all fell asleep, we were exhausted.

November already!

Oh my goodness! Can't believe it's already November! Where has the year gone!!!!? Yesterday was Halloween and it was Nicks 1st, he was a Texas Ranger baseball player. We pulled him around in his wagon. My mom and my sister and my cousins Gaby and Adrian and their mom also joined me nick and my hubby trick or treating. It was a great experiance taking our little one out trick or treating for the 1st time! And the weather was sooooo great!

Well we are preparing for our little boys baptism which I will go ahead and say the date now that the invites have gone out, Nov.6th , that's this coming Saturday. And we have everything just about set. I'm very excited about me and Julian taking our son along with his godparents to get baptized. It's gonna be such a special day!

And wow the day after his baptism my baby is turning 7months!! Slow down a little time!! But I enjoy him every second!! I know iv said this before but still to this day I can't get enough of him!! And this month he will also be celebrating his 1st thanksgiving!! Lots of 1sts =)

I finally got the family studio pictures. They came out wonderful. I need to make some time to scan them so I can post on FB, hope i have time tomorrow. These next couple days will be busy!

Growing so fast...

Iv been so busy keeping up with this precious little angel of mine!! He is 6.5 months now!! He loves to babble!! He does it all the time, while I'm driving and he is in the back seat, while he is getting a bath ect.. And I just mock his babble and he thinks it's hilarious! And I love when he showers me with kisses!

One if the many things that melts me is when he lays his head on my shoulder!! I think it's sooooo darn sweet!! I'm just pudding with my little boy!! And it cracks me up the way he is so little an acts like a big boy!! He thinks he can climb a mountain!!

So about 2 weeks ago we went to the pumpkin patch on his daddy birthday!! We got some really cute pictures!! That same day in the afternoon we also went to the state fair of Texas!! It was nicks first time! We rode the dart rail there and back, he was the entertainment! He was being silly an giggling and everyone thought it was so funny! He always gets slot of attention when we are out and about, he has a really great personality I think! He always gives everyone a toothy smile and then hides his face becase he gets shy.

So Friday after daddys birthday we threw him a surprise party, just our parents and siblings, but it was great! He was totally surprized!! Had some good food he got pretty awsome presents and we got to hang out with family.

Oh and just the other day Nick was playing in his crib I went to the kitchen for something real quick and then I heard him cry, the kind of cry when something not too good happens so I ran to his room thinking he probably fell on his face from sitting position and he got scared... I walk in his room and the booger had tried to stand from the crib rail!! He was stuck on his knees his hand on the top of the rail and I guess he got scared because he could figure out how to either get up all the way or get back down! Lol!!

Yesterday we went to take our first family pictures together! The session went great!! Of course I knew this fella loves taking pictures! He is used to me taking pics of him all the time! He loves the spotlight! He was flashing awsome smiles!! We also took pics of him in his baptism outfit. Which btw his baptism is really soon!! Don't want to say when yet because j already sent out the invites and don't wanna spoil it!!

I am really excited about it though! It's such a special day for us as his parents to take our angel to get baptized!! His outfit is brand new from Strausburgs Children, and he will use his daddys baptism shoes, which I just finished cleaning up yesterday, they were yellowish and Iv got to say I did a pretty good job cleaning them up! And those dirty little shoe laces I got really white! And he is also going to use this thing that looks like a front and back bib thing he is required to wear and it was his daddys too! (sigh) so adorable! So this weekend my sister in law and I have last minute things to buy! Oh and I don't think iv even mentions who his godparents will be! Julians sister Laura and his brother Jr. I know they will be great godparents to him!!

Oh boy I guess iv made this long enough lol, I guess next time I blog will probably be about how great the baptism was!! Yup it's that close!! Yay!!

Baby Nicolas is 6months today! 10/7/10

Updates on Nick, He is a little booger!! he wants to feel and play with everything and put everything in his mouth!! he especially loves paper! magazines, books ect. he likes the way it makes the crinkling noise. And he throws a fit when I dont let him chew on books and stuff. He has been sitting up on his own now for about two weeks! And my mom bought him a walker so now he plays in that too, he doesnt zoom fast yet but he is getting the hang of the fact that he cant get around in that thing. So time to cover the outlets!! He absolutly still enjoys being outdoors, sometimes he is fussy and we go sit out front and he loves it, or sometimes we go for walks. I was telling Julian he needs to hang up the hammock so we can chill on it, I think he would love it, we didnt put it out during he summer cuz it was way too hot to sit out there.

He has been doing very well eating solids the past 2 months, first cereal at 4 mo then i started fruits and veggies when he turned 5 months. Today the doc said I can also give him pureed meats. Cant wait to see how he reacts to meats. The past two weeks he got in the bad habit of waking during the night to eat! which he wasnt doing anymore. Today I asked the doc about that and he told me to let him cry it out a little and rock himself back to sleep because if not it will be a habit that will be more difficult to break once he gets older. So its going to be some tough few nights ahead of us to break him of this habit, he is like a little drunk! lol

Today at his doctors appt he weighed 17pds 10oz! and he is now 27.5 inches long! Since he was born he has gained 10 pds and 7.5 inches lol! My baby boy is so precious! He is also starting to give baby versions of kisses! he will grab our faces with both hands and open up his mouth and press it to our cheeks! He is also very cuddly now, he leans on my shoulder when I carry him, its soooo sweet! that boy just melts me!!!

So we bought his big boy carseat last week, he hasnt out grown his infant carrier just yet, but we had gift cards from Babies r us that I thought we should invest in the carseat before I spent it on random stuff there. I have been doing alot of research anyway on carseats, Im all about the saftey! I also read reviews and I let nick sit in the ones at the store to see how he feels in them lol. We ended up getting the Saftey 1st "Air Protect" I read it was one of the saftest seats out there at the moment. Its also very cute! I am a big Graco fan! our infant carrier is Graco and so was his swing that we ended up returning because he didnt use it much and his high chair is also Graco and his Crib. But once again saftey is very important to me thats why we went with Saftey 1st! 

Oh I also forgot to mention we took Nick to his first Oktoberfest in Addison this year! It was lots of fun! The reason I enjoy taking him is because I have been going there since I was 3! And the Munich Evergreen band is friends with my aunt so they have seen me and my sis and my Cousin Sammy grow up!

And on Oct 14th is Julians birthday, also very special because its going to be his first birthday as a daddy, well last year Nick was in my belly at this time. So we still have to go shopping for daddys present from me and Nick.

Well I think thats about it for now, I will have to put up some new pictures for this post probably tomorrow, thats what I always say and it takes me longer than that lol!

Dallas Market 2010

So the last few days have been crazy, Dallas Bridal Market was sept 11-14 sucked having to work 3 full days away from Nicolas! But good thing there won't be another market til March it April. The cool thing is that I got to see my friend Lindsey and her baby bump! She is due in January, she is gonna have a little girl! And also I got to see some ppl we work with from New York. Angela s hilarious and j had a blast with Nicole!! Lots of chit chatting went on lol! And also saw more ppl we work with from Mori Lee in Florida. Marco and Maria who we discovered are from Equador which is cool cuz my sis is 1/2 equadorian lol! I pik on her about it cuz I'm a full Mexican!
Anyways, but things are back to Normal with market over. I'm back home full time with baby which I love to be!! Today hubby was home with us, and it was such a relaxing day, thank u hubby for doing some yard work today! Our lawn looks great!
I'm looking forward to tomorrow because we are going to take Nicolas to his first Oktoberfest! Plus free admission for everyone! Whoo hoo!

Happy 5month birthdy baby Nick!!!

My baby boy is 5months today, we had a pretty good morning...until after he woke from his 1st morning nap at 10:30!! Wow!! I had never seen him cry like that and it lasted an hour!! I rocked him, gave him a chilled teether, offered him milk, put orajel on his top gums because I thought his top teeth were bugging him. Everything would only quiet him for a few seconds!! I had already prepared myself to handle him like this all day, I put him down on his play mat to see if I could distract him with toys and it worked!! He totally chilled out and was back to his normal babbly, happy, smiley self!! Crazy!!

So this month he doesn't need a check up. But I weighed him here at home and he weighs 17 or 18 Pds (hard to tell it's an adult scale). Last month he was 15.4. And he is now 27 inches long, he grew one inch since last month.

This month he gets to start eating veggies! Going shopping for some veggies later today to cook for him =) he continues to drink 4oz of milk, but I think he might start needing 6oz soon because he seems to finishe the 4really fast and he keeps sucking at the bottle.

I think u mentioned in a previous post that he loves water! I know babies don't really need water, but doc said if it's a hot day and we are out ad about I can give him up to 4oz a day. And he actually likes to drink from the water bottle like mommy. He will fuss if I don't let him, so we had to get him a started zippy cup!

He loves to sit up and play, he can't sit on his own yet but he is almost there! He continues to love to play with our dog Scottie. He loves it! If he sits on our laps while at the dinner table he loves to grab anything he can get a hold of! Everything is a toy to him so we have to be careful! My mom says he is growing up so fast and he is such a smart baby doing things at such a young age.

Well that's all we have been up to today so far! I will post a 5mo pic when I take one later today, we r still in our pj's lol!

End of the 3day weekend

So the 3day labor day weekend is coming to an end, we hung out with grandparents and aunts and uncles from both sides of the family. Everyone needs their Weekly and somtimes daily dose of Nick.

And tomorrow Nick will be 5months! So I will update y'all tomorrow on his lengh and weight and a few cute new things Nick has been up to!

Canton

Ok so I know its been a while but I finally got the time to do some updating! Nicolas will be 5 months on tuesday Sept. 7th! What a big boy! This Labor day weekend so far...On saturday we went shopping and bought Nick some converse shoes( he is a perfect size 2 but we got him 3 so he can grow a little) and a cute little Gap sweater and a hoodie! Good sales this weekend by the way. And today Sunday, we went to Canton (1st Monday flea market sort of thing). Tovar Grandparents joined us, also uncle alex(julians lil bro) and Aunt Laura (julians sis) and her husband Chris. We had a good time. After we were done we went to Carmona's Mex restaurant and let me tell you we had to walk out of that place! BAD service, it was hot in there, waiter took forever to bring chips and salsa, and then we never got our drinks, so after 30 min we were all a bunch of Pissed of hungry Mexicans lol!! We left and went to another restaurant( also Mex) and we got WAY better service! Now we are exhausted, feels good to be home, I hoped in my pj's Nick ate and is taking a nap, and daddy is here on the couch with me watching tv with Scottie(our mini Schnauzer). I guess thats all for now, Im gonna hopefully finish uploading some pics.

Sleeping and playing with toes

Hey everyone, I still need to add some pics to the blog, but Im too lazy to turn on the computer and mess with pics. But I'm hoping to get it done this coming week! So Nicolas discovered his feet about 2weeks ago and is always grabbing them. Today he started trying to put them in his mouth it's hilarious! I have one pic where he was napping and he was grabbing his feet! I can't believe how much he has grown physically and mentally, he is such a smart and funny baby. Like when he coughs for attention, and now he grabs at things on the table, and he is a pro at rolling over now! He thinks playing with daddies beard is funny. He is very ticklish! And continues to yell for fun, last nite at a restaurant and this morning at church before mass started lol! Julian was like stick something in his mouth lol!! Oh and today I saw a diaper I saved from the hospital and I'm like omg it's sooo tiny!! Like I can't believe he was that tiny (tear).

4th Month so far..

At 4 mo Check up

He is now 4 months, he did have a 4 month check up and he got 2 shots again! But this time he was a tough boy! He didnt cry!! It seemed like he didnt even feel the shots, I was a little weirded out. But I guess its good because I dont feel so bad for him.
He loves to smile and babble, he likes to yell for fun lol!! He just keeps getting funner and funner. Doc said I could start him on baby cereal! He doesnt seem to mind it much. He really likes playing in his high chair. He also likes playing with daddies beard!! I guess the scratchiness makes him giggle, actually daddy is always being silly and makes him smile and giggle. He has begun to notice Scottie. He reaches for him when he sees him near and Scottie nudges his little hand playing with him, its so adorable!!
He only poops once maybe twice a day, he still eats every 3 hours during the day and only like twice at night. He sleeps anywhere from 6-9 hours, sometimes he figits for about 2 hours around 5 am. like he kinda wants to wake up but he stays asleep. He takes about 3 naps during the day, lasting about 1 hour and one of those naps he sleeps 3 hours after playing for a long time.
He wakes up a happy baby never fussy. Unless he hasnt gotten enough sleep he fusses a little and I give him his pacey and he goes back to sleep. And by the way those pacifiers they give them at the hospital, they get addicted to them, so if you already have a certain pacey in mind take it with you to the hospital and let them know you have one already. I didnt think abou that. But its okay he looks adorable with his hospital pacey!

This month we celebrated my 24th birthday and our 4 yr wedding anniversary!! It was great to have baby with us on a such a special day! This time last year I was about 5 wks preggers and didnt know it yet. I found out the day after my birthday!! Crazy huh?

Also we have signed up for a Baptisim class we need to take in order to baptize him. But we have to wait 3 months because apparently we wernt members of this church anymore and yet we got married there 4 yrs ago! Anyhoo, his God- Mother will be Julians sister laura, and the God-Father Julians brother Jr. They are both very excited about it!! I cant wait to baptize him, it will be such a special day!!

3rd Month

So the 3rd month, there is more to it than pooping, eating and sleeping. He plays with toys while on his back and I put him on his tummy one day and he didnt hate it so much anymore!! And he could lift his head very well now and used his arms to raise his chest off the floor. He started to try rolling over but he needed a little help. There was no doctor appointment this month. He likes being in his bouncer, and he now reaches for the little animals that hang infront of him. He also has one of those little play gyms, and he also reaches for the toys hanging above him. It comes with a little mirror which he loves looking in! And when I put him on his tummy he looks at all the colors on the play mat. I have also read to him since he was a newborn. He loves books with big pictures and lots of colors. When we are at a store he loves looking around and captures everything. I think he is going to be a smart boy! He already is a pretty smart baby. Also since month 2 he started sucking on his hands, we thought he was teething. This month he also started grabbing his feet, its soooo cute when I see him do that! And he likes sitting up when ppl hold him, he doesnt like it much when people hold him and make him lie down lol!

Month 2

This month got much better and a little easier, your a little more on schedule and gotten used to the sleep deprivation!! lol!! It seems like before I knew it I didnt have to get out of bed and position the boppy to feed him. He sleeps in our bed ( I know some of you are like, what no way!!) so come feeding time we would stay laying down to feed and he would dose off after he was full, and his feedings would take as long anymore. So I felt like I was getting a little more rest. Also during this month he stopped pooping after every single feeding! So I didnt have to change him until we got up in the morning!
Nicolas didnt like tummy time!! Doctor and books say to put him on his tummy for him to start strenghening his neck! But he hated it!! I wasnt too worried because I also read most babies do hate it, and in the end they end up developing just fine!

At his 2 month check up he got 2 shots which gave him a little fever and his legs were sore! I felt so bad for the little guy! But that was only one afternoon and the next day he was fine.

First Month

So we finally made it home!! I was so excited to finally be home with our baby boy! My mom helped do some cleaning around the house since we hadnt been home in a week! And Scottie our mini schnauzer stayed at her house. Nicolas was such a good baby that 1st day, he slept most of the time which gave me time to organize some stuff around the house.
We had lots of visitors of course! I feel lucky that he wasnt a colicy baby and he would eat, sleep, and poop.
During the night he would wake every 3 hours also, but it felt as if I didnt sleep 3 hours, felt more like 20 minutes of sleep and then it was time to get up and feed again! I feed him for about 30 minutes then burp him then either before or after every feeding I had to change his diaper because he had gone #1 and #2!!. Then time to swaddle him again so he could get back to sleep. It is a little draining especially since I was breastfeeding and there wasnt much Julian could help with.
The days would go by soooo fast! I felt like he was always in my arms because feeding time would come in a blink of an eye. I was a little sad that the days were going by so fast and my newborn would soon not be a newborn anymore!

Post delivery!

I'm back in recovery room. Julian comes back with pictures and my sister in law mysister and my aunt Graciela come in to congradulate us. Nurses wheel Nicolas in and let me feed him, then they take him away to give him a bath. I am taken to a new room and my parents and inlaws ad sibilings come to our room waiting for nurses to bring Nicolas from his bath, well 8pm o'clock comes and I call the nursery and they tell me they have to keep him because turns out he swallowed his poop ad they need to monitor his breathing!!

The family leaves disappointed. And im freaking out because I can't get out of bed to go see my baby! I'm still hooked up to iv and a catheder(sp?). I didn't get to see Nick until the next day at 5pm. But I did ask for a breast pump because I did want to breastfeed! Julian and a nurse helped me get out of bed an wheeled me into the Nicu to see my baby boy! It felt so good to finally see him but he had to stay in the nicu. But I did request they called me down for every feeding because I wanted to feed him.

So every 3hrs my wonderful husband helped me out of bed because oh boy was i sore from the c-section!! And he wheeled me to the nicu to feed our baby and spend time with him. I could feel us bonding as mommy and son! He ended up having to stay a full week!! Taking antibiotics and xrays to make sure his lungs were clear! Good thing i got to room in the hospital too if I would have had to go home andnleave Nick there I would have slept out in my car!! We were lucky our last 2nites there he got to stay in the room with us =).

Starting to blog about mommy hood!

Hello everyone! So Nicolas is now 4months, and iv been debating about starting a blog, and now I wish I would have started one while I was pregnant!! But anyways let's start back on the night i went into labor!!!....

So My duedate was April 12 according to my last period and April 7th according to my 1st sono!! And Dr. adami said he was still set pretty high so I thought I would go past my due date!! So it's April 6th, I go to work, pretty easy day, and while at work I get like this excited feeling in my tummy and I remember telling Nick is this some kind of sign?!

So I finish my work bosses are out of town and I call it an early day and I head home, I'm feeling really happy I didn't make dinner because my mom was making sopa de pescado, but I did make a delishious chocolate cake for dessert =) hubby was at school that night, so I drive to my moms who lives like 3miles away to pick up some soup, as I'm driving I feel a little crampy and I remember my co-worker Jordan said contractions start of feeling like period cramps.

It's about 8pm and I arrive at my moms house, I didn't mention anything because I didn't want to freak her out! She would have taken me to the hospital asap!! I texted my hubby that I thought it might be time but i wasn't sure yet so j leave my moms house and head back home, hubby's class let out early so he got home soon after me.

The cramps got a little more painful and I was trying to time them, but they were confusing, sometimes 5 min apart and sometimes 15!! So I finished packing the hospital bag, which was mostly ready and I had a list of last minute things to pack so I wouldn't forget! We head to the hospital. I made julian slow down during a contraction because any small bump in the road made it hurt worse!!

We make it to the hospital, I'm 1cm dialated! I'm gonna spare some details, but let's say the pain made me vomit and I was not 2cm!! Next they make me walk!! WTF I'm in all this pain and they make me walk!! So I do as I'm told because I know it's for the best! Oh and by the time I checked in the hospital it was now 10pm. 2hrs of labor so far.

Nurse called my doc and he said I could stay. We didn't call fAmily yet because I didn't think we should all lose sleep. Julian pulled out the sofa bed and I told him to try and get some sleep because I was gonna need him well rested! I got a little shut eye in between contractions!! My back was killing me though!!

About 5am I let my hubby call my mom, she was fixing to head to the gym and I could hear her yell to my sister Erika is gonna have the baby!! Julian we will be right over! So within 30 minutes my mom, stepdad and sister show up. I'm still having contractions but finally around 6 they give me an epidural!! And can I say wooooow those things are awsome!! I felt the releif instantly!!I felt much much better!!

I started texting everyone to let them know what was up. Called my bosses, Sharon was so excited, then I called Marty and I said can I have the day off and he was like yeah sure lol!!. I was dialating at a good rate, but then I got stuck at 9cm and they had me try pushing but I still had some cervix in the way that wouldn't allow nicks head to come out! So doc said we don't want to stress the baby, emergency c-section time!

I didn't freak out because all that mattered was that baby was safe and healthy. Plus I always told myself anything can happen so I had an open mind. What was frustrating was being tied down to a table! And I had so much Meds in me j had the shakes, which is normal! They cute me up and next thing I know I hear a cry and they hold him up for me to see him!! I remember looking at his face and thinking wow this is my son!! I finally met him face to face! he was born April 7th 4:50 pm 7pds 4oz 20inches long!They took him to the warm table to clean him up and I can still hear his crying! Julian leaves with the nurses and Nicolas while they finish stitching me up!
